We are one week away from the kickoff of The Winter Community Championship on Stadia. As we described here last week, the format of the event will involve three qualifying weeks and a 16 player live finals!
Details of the Week 1 Challenge
The week 1 challenge starts on Wednesday February 2. The winner takes $50 via (Google Play Credit or PayPal), and second place get $25. Participating also helps you qualify for the finals (with a $400 first place prize).
How do you participate?
- You absolutely must register at this Google Form if you haven’t already: https://forms.gle/4RYLEzMrfxqgTfNF9
- Complete the Wreckfest in game weekly challenge by Midnight Pacific time on Sunday February 6th. Note, that in game challenge continues past this deadline. But, we will take a snapshot of scores at this time.
- Acquire the game Wreckfest on Google Stadia. If you are a Stadia Pro subscriber, the game can currently be claimed for free. Note, you absolutely must complete the challenge on Google Stadia.
- To find the in-game weekly challenge, select “tournament” from the main menu and then select “weekly challenge” from the subsequent menu. See the following screenshots:
- You can continue to improve your score up until the deadline of Midnight Pacific time on Sunday February 6th. Registered users will be ranked and the highest score of users registered for the event on the in game weekly challenge leaderboard will win the weekly prize. However, simply participating and completing the challenge will help your chances of getting into the tournament finals.
- Optional: Stream your attempts to your YouTube channel (at a URL provided during registration) to allow the organizers and partner creators to later commentate on your video. If you do this, you’ll be entered into a $25 raffle each week you stream.
