Sunday Stadia Stats: Stadia’s Marketing Appears to be Working!

The great growth since the Stadia anniversary (when YouTube advertising re-began and promotions started) has continued.

It’s interesting to note that even over just the last three days since the Game Awards, Stadia’s marketing has proven to be significantly more effective than Luna’s Awards show presence which appears to have netted Luna a fairly paltry ~50 twitter followers per day since, 6 new reddit followers per day on the biggest subreddit since, and a unchanged average number of reviews per day (~15) for the service on Amazon.com itself.

In contrast, let’s check out some of the data I found interesting this week that demonstrate growth in Stadia.

The Dirt 5 leaderboard now has over 76K Stadians listed. No signs of slowing down. Note that I only started tracking data on November 8th (a week after it went Pro). It is clear that going Pro caused this leaderboard to explode.

Last Sunday we highlighted that the Stadia Destiny 2 population was over 6K in a 24 hour period. This weekend it passed the 8K mark w/ the help of new game events (numbers last hit back in Feb.). About 2.5% of PC players.

GoogleStadia twitter follower count has grown by about 2,000 since the anniversary. It dipped a bit in fall (similar to 2020) but is now back at record highs.

This graph is what we in the biz call a step function. r/stadia growth rate has been fairly solid at just over 100 new members a day since the 2nd anniversary. y = 30+75*θ(x-Nov18)
