Nvidia’s cloud gaming service get’s major upgrade, as new tier claimed to be 5x as powerful as Xbox latest console.
At the last possible minute, we decided to cover the Nvidia CES 2023 Showcase, we had no idea what we were in for. As reported via our sister site Cloud Dosage , Nvidia made some pretty big announcements. Those announcements included; DLSS 3 support for more games – yippee, more frames! They also boastedthe 4070 Ti which I feel officially makes the 3000 series of cards obsolete. However, the most impressive to me as a gamer and streamer was what they announced for Geforce Now. GFN, Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, that allows you to play a selection of over 1,500 PC games, is integrating some big tools. Tools like the aforementioned DLSS 3, are impressive enough natively. However to be able to experience this along with their reflex technology in the cloud is astounding!
The suite of new features coming to the service include:
DLSS 3
New Max Frames of 240 FPS (120 FPS for 4K)
Nvidia Reflex
Ultrawide Monitor Support
Longer Streaming Sessions
In addition, current 3080 tier members will be upgraded at no additional charge. It also appears they can maintain their current price point as long as they do not let their subscription lapse. The final deal sweetener is a biggie. Per the press release, Nvidia claims that new AT&T Fiber as well as ne/existing AT&T 5G consumers can get a *complimentary 6 month Ultimate membership! I commend GFN for bringing down a very important barrier for cloud gaming. That barrier involves the belief that gaming in the cloud does not look that good, nor can it provide low latency. Yhis new tier just does more to completely dispel those beliefs.
*Offer for Priority tier only visible at the time of this writing.
