STORY: Google celebrates 2nd ‘Stadiaversary’ with community members, releases big discounts for platform & games.
Cloud gaming, though currently a small slice of the overall gaming pie, is rapidly growing and exceeding projections. One of the forces within cloud gaming, Stadia, should be considered a contributing factor to it’s growth and popularity.
As such, Google has decided to capitalize on the fervor from its most enthusiastic community members to celebrate 2 years since the platform has launched.

New Game Announcements
To kick off the celebration, Stadia announces two new titles headed to the platform. First is ‘Nine to Five’ : Currently this game is in early access. It’s a free to play game with a 3v3v3 focus. It is scheduled to release on Stadia December 8th 2021.
The next game is Hunting 2 Simulator. Gamers get to explore the stunning natural environments, choose gear and set off in search of a variety of species in this hunting simulation. This game is scheduled to release November 30th 2021.
Special Bundle Discounts!
Google has a special anniversary price for the Premiere Edition bundle! Get a Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra2 for the super low price of $22.22 USD.
Another deal was spotted by ‘Sunny Cloud Games’ on Twitch. Buy any Stadia title at $29.99 USD or more, and get a free Premiere Bundle as well!
Game Sales
There’s currently a variety of Stadia games on sale. These sales are highlighted in a feed from ‘Bryant Chappel’ on Twitter. One of the more noted sales, is of the critically acclaimed ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’. This game is on sale for $29.99 on Stadia.
Community Events/Recognition
The impassioned Stadia community kicked off 17 hour straight event ! This event was hosted by ‘SBCN’ (Stadia Bash Community Network). It features continuous streams and podcast, all focused on Stadia, to celebrate the anniversary. The entire line-up of content can be seen here.
Various Stadia content creators sent Stadia a congratulatory birthday card. The card, along with a special video, was sent to numerous Stadia and Google Staff. The content reflects the appreciation those within the community have towards the product, and Google’s stated commitment towards future growth.
Stadia sent out a special blog post featuring many Stadia Founders. They also scheduled a community play day. The games featured were: ‘Human Fall Flat’ , “Outcasters ‘ and’ Superbomberman R Online’. Each play session was hosted by Stadia community Managers Grace Yang ‘Chris from Google’.
It was undoubtedly a day with a lot of moving parts. The community in large part seemed to enjoy the sales, events and updates. Heading into year 3, eyes are now on what Stadia has in store. We will continue to monitor and report their progress, along with their cloud gaming peers.
